Our particular focus is fugitive methane capture and upgrading to hydrogen, low carbon fuel or renewable natural gas (RNG) projects that are implemented under Article‘s 6.2 & 6.4 of the Paris Agreement. Primarily, our methane sources are from landfills, waste water treatment plants, waste gases from the flaring activities accompanied with underground coal mining and oil and gas actives on an industrial scale.
We deliver meaningful carbon abating and waste to fuels solutions globally based on our 10 years of Research and Development across proprietary systems and processes involving:
1. Ceramic Induction Sublimation of waste streams such as MSW, end of life tyres, human, medical and animal waste, e-waste and various biomass residuals.
2. Ultra High Temperature Thermal Plasma development for the treatment of waste materials and gases.
3. Ultra High Temperature Thermal Plasma processes for reforming of natural gas and other hydrocarbons into clean hydrogen without the associated CO2 emissions.
Outlier Energy is exceptionally pleased with the culmination of over 10 year of research and development to bring this process to fruition. Moreover, Outlier Energy is very pleased to provide a process that eliminates combustion emissions to the environment. This solution represents a very tangible pathway to the immediate decarbonisation of industry whilst utilising existing infrastructure whilst at the same time decoupling fossil fuels and resources from combustion based, and therefore CO2 emitting processes. This represents a very significant breakthrough in achieving decarbonisation without wholesale disruption to future economic growth whilst maintaining the status quo per se, Outlier Energy’s process represents a world first vertical integration of all links in the supply chain to deliver low-carbon industrial resources.
Our commercial objective is to offer a carbon neutral alternative that in real terms is a total replacement process for currently extracted fossil based fuels and in particular, a total replacement of the Steam Reforming Method of methane for hydrogen production.

In conjunction with Connewarre Energy Pty Limited, Outlier Energy is finalising the release to market of its low-carbon processes for iron ore, aluminum, copper and other critical minerals. As an example, utilising existing natural gas infrastructure in conjunction with renewable energy, these processes are able to reduce the associated carbon intensity to almost zero (circa 20-50kg CO2e/tonne metal).
In relation to aluminium, the process will reduce the energy consumption of the smelting process by circa 45%.
In relation to the iron ore reduction process, this will achieve an emission reduction of at least 95% compared to the current direct reduced iron processes.

As an overarching principle, we are fully committed to playing our part in limiting (if not reducing) global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
Finally, as it takes a village to raise a child, we truly believe that this goal is achievable if the global community reacts in unison to achieve net zero by 2050 as per the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals For Climate Action (2015).
